What is a home inspection?
A home inspection is a visual inspection, that is an honest, professional inspection that covers multiple areas, from
the structure, electrical, and the mechanical systems, right down to the basement floor of the home.
How long does inspection take?
All depends on the size and condition of the property, usually 2 – 4 hours
Should I attend the inspection?
We would always welcome you to attend the inspection. Great opportunity to ask questions, take measurements, get the
feel of the property that will become your home. And if you can’t attend, we can schedule a phone call (even a video call)
to chat about the findings.
When will I receive the inspection report?
You will receive a comprehensive, detailed report, multiple pages, images, descriptions, and diagrams, within 24 hours of
the inspection.
Usually that very same day. All inspections and reports include thermal imaging. (Included free of charge on
all inspections.)
What is Thermal Imaging?
A thermal imager (also known as a thermal camera) is essentially a heat sensor that is capable of detecting
tiny differences in temperature. The device collects the infrared radiation from objects in the scene and creates
an electronic image based on information about the temperature differences.
The infrared thermal camera is a great tool that is used on every inspection. Being a certified thermographer,
being able to use this advanced bit of equipment, the non-invasive thermal camera scans can help to pick up,
missing or movement of insulation, leaks (moisture observed at ceiling, possibly from a failed toilet wax seal),
possible moisture intrusion, problem electrical wiring (hot spots) down to cooler areas at windows and doors
(usually missing weatherstripping, ongoing maintenance.
